For 11 + Years, KC Roof Plumbing has been working closely with Melbourne’s top-tier architects & builders to help simplify design — and, in turn, educating for future projects in design. We deliver simple, high-quality metal roofing & cladding projects that are set up for success from a compliance perspective to last into the future.
What processes set us apart in the large high-end home sector?

Compliance
It starts right from the beginning. We are strong on compliance and setting projects up for success. As soon as we agree to price your project, our qualified roofing estimator will assess your drawing. We’ll come back to you with any RFI’s on design/compliance that could be changed on the drawing for you to consider, or we will allow for what is compliant and show the changes on our plan markup. We supply a markup with each and every quote.

Compliance Handbook
We have invested in creating our own proprietary compliance handbook that we use to check against the regulations. It covers the top roofing compliance issues that are out there, and is designed to help our younger guys understand the regs in a simpler way — along with photos showing how we go a little bit further than the regulations to be safe. This book is also available for close long-term clients.

Education
We here at KCRP believe other roofing contractors ignore the fact they need to educate their apprentices and just expect them to pick it up, without giving them a chance to learn. They get to the end of their time and maybe know one thing about roofing. Apprentices are the future of the industry.

When Recruiting for an Apprentice
The only things we look for are someone that wants to be better everyday and has the right attitude. From day one of employment, we open up healthy conversations with our apprentices. Every 90 days we check-in and work on identifying what one thing we can work on at a time, to get them to a point where they can then teach other apprentices below them.
From the Leading Hands above perspective, their role is to mentor apprentices on-site. We support this by making educational youtube videos that explain the critical items so they can have a crack themselves once they feel up to it.
We care about the future of our industry.

Admin & Paperwork
Once we have been engaged, we supply you with an RFI that consists of a request for your start date, site supervisor contact details, colour confirmations, gate codes, rubbish locations & where to leave leftover material. The most important document in this email is our Contacts & Roles document, which labels all our managers’ names, contact details, and their role description, so you can then share that through your organisation.
From here, we will call the supervisor to arrange a catch up during roof construction, so we can communicate any better way to set those final parts up, so they are bang on for when measure time comes.

Proprietary CRM & ERP Online System
KC Roof Plumbing has had a custom-built online program that encapsulates the CRM & ERP needs all in the one place. From the first lead, project delivery, quality assurance, site inspections, and defect management, to the last invoice and then into defect liability periods. No other roofing and cladding company has this system. This operating program creates efficiencies within our roles and allows us to concentrate on the purpose of our role.

QAs (Quality Assurances)
It seems self explanatory, but our QA process is different. Quality is obviously paramount, but education is greater — and this is where we excel. Here at KCRP, we have team huddles in the morning where we set out all our tasks and work requirements for the day for both the qualified and apprentices. We, as a united team, go and get the day.
When it comes to our daily QA, our team gets together as a group for the last 30mins before packing up. We walk around the work done for the day and, with respect, we call out anything that could have been done better or that has been done well. This process is vital for our up-and-coming apprentices and the qualified to learn from each other. We do QA daily, and once the roofing stage is complete, we hand over the QA report to the builder for them to acknowledge. This, in the long term, minimises return to sites and reduces the builders holding value.

Communication
For KCRP, professionalism is in our head, heart and gut. If you call or email, our priority is to come back to you as soon as possible.
We hold our word, you have our trust, and we carry this ethos all the way through to the very end of every project.

Variations
In the unlikely event of a variation being requested, we are proud to turn them around within 24-30 hrs for your written approval.

Feedback
Your feedback is vital in our (and your) success, so we want to hear what you have to say about each phase of your roofing and cladding project. With this in mind, we send out a 2-5 min survey to your supervisor every month to see if we can work on any 1% ers.
Request an appointment via our contact form or speak to one of our friendly staff and see how KC Roof Plumbing can partner with you on your large project.
